GENERAL ENTRY CONDITIONS

1.1. The competition opens on 16 March 2025 and closes on 1 September 2025. No late entries will be accepted.

1.2. The competition is open to South African residents only who were born, live or work in Soweto, or have direct family in Soweto.

1.3. Entrants must be females between 25 - 55 years of age on the day of the final event. Entrants can be single, engaged, married, divorced or widowed.

1.4. Semi-finalists will be contacted telephonically and their names, pictures and autobiographies will be advertised on our social media platforms & press.

1.5. Entrants must be prepared to have their photographs published for publicity purposes.

1.6. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control, Mrs Soweto (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to cancel this competition, or to change the rules at it’s discretion or to change the prize(s) at any time by publishing such decision on the Mrs Soweto website: www.mrssoweto.co.za. It is your responsibility to check the website from time to time for any such changes.

1.7. An auditor will oversee and certify the proceedings. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

1.8. Any personal information that you submit on the entry foerm will be used solely in connection with this competition and will not be disclose ed to any third party except for the purposes of the competition, where applicable, unless you agree otherwise.

1.9. Neither Mrs Soweto (Pty) Ltd, its employees, agents or representatives shall be liable for any loss or damage suffered by the participants as a result of participating in the competition, save where such loss or damage is as a result of the grossly negligent or intentional acts of the Mrs Soweto, its employees, agents or representatives.

1.10 The Entrant is responsible for all transportation and costs involved to and from auditions, rehearsals, workshops, the gala event and any other event which requires the contestant to attend or make an appearance relating to Mrs Soweto. Furthermore, the entrant undertakes to ensure that any additional costs relating to meals, accommodation, clothing and the like will be for her sole account. Mrs Soweto and the Event Owner shall in no way be liable for any costs unless specifically agreed by the Sponsors and communicated to the

entrant beforehand.

1.11 There are no height or weight restrictions. No experience required.

2. The entrant will not participate in any activity that is in direct conflict to the Mrs Soweto Pageant or approach any sponsors directy unless written permission is given by the organisers.

2. HOW TO ENTER AND WINNER SELECTION

2.1. Non-refundable Entrance fee is R450 to cover admin costs

2.2. Entrants must complete the entry form with one recent image (head shot), your bio about yourself (max 1 page) and a certified copy of your ID. Entrants need a drivers license by the Finals. We are looking for real, authentic women.

2.3. Entry forms can be accessed via the Mrs Soweto website (www.mrssoweto.co.za).

2.4. Photographs and other supporting documents will remain the property of the organisers and will not be returned.

2.5 The entrant may not without the prior written consent of Mrs Soweto, provide

any press release during the Competition.

2.6 The Entrant will be available to attend any required audition, rehearsal, workshop, meeting and event which Mrs Soweto requires her to attend. Failure to attend any one of the above can lead to disqualification of the entrant and will be at the sole discretion of the Event Organiser and/or Judges.

2.7 A proposed schedule of events for the year will be shared with the Entrant. This schedule is subject to change at the sole discretion of Mrs Soweto and any changes will be communicated as soon as is reasonably possible.

2.8. The judging for the final winners will take place in March 2026 at The Soweto Theatre. The winners’ names and photos will be published on social media platforms and other media.

2.9. Mrs Soweto will be loaned a Renault Kiger for the period of 12 months sponsored by Group 1 Renault The Glen.

2.10. The Mrs Soweto winner must have a valid South African driver’s licence to claim the Renault Kiger prize and will be required to present her ID and drivers' licence.

2.11. The top three Mrs Soweto winners must be available one year from the date they have been selected as winners for any Mrs Soweto marketing campaign, event and/or corporate social initiatives when required and must agree to their images being used in marketing material.

2.12 The winner must conduct herself in a way that is positive to all brands involved. Should the winner act in an unfit manner it is at the discretion of the organiser to remove the title and prizes.

2.13. Violation of the Mrs Soweto rules shall automatically lead to disqualification.

2.14. The outcome of the competition is subject to the decision of the judges, presenter or organizer of the competition, whose decision is final, and no negotiations and/or correspondence will be entered into after the fact.

2.15. The prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or converted to cash.

2.16 Mrs Soweto and her Princesses will be required to perform duties for Mrs Soweto for the year of their reign.
